This route lasts about 6 hours. It can be changed by the schooner commander, if bad weather conditions appear. The stop in Cataguas Island only happens if there's enough time.

It happens at the Tourism Dock, at Angra's downtown, but, if it is possible, we can embark you from where you're staying at.

Lagoa Azul - A 'pool' of clear water in a calm sea, formed by Redonda, Comprida, and Macacos islands beside Ilha Grande. Beaches of very bright sand perfect for sea baths, and rocky coasts with many slabs, for those that want to apreciate the beauty of the sea bottom. Sorrounded by virgen forests, for those that prefer trecking.

Freguesia de Santana - It's the nearest place from the continent, where the first vila of Ilha Grande was built. Don't forget to visit the church, build in the XVIII century. At the vila, nowadays, there are a few houses. One track allows you to reach Lagoa Azul, on the other side of the peninsula. A beautifull beach, shaded by the forest, invites everyone for a dive.

The stop for lunch it's at Japariz Beach, where restaurants of diferent stantards ofer the most varied foods. Don't forget to try our region sea fruits, always tasty and fresh. This beach is also perfect for sea baths.

It happens also at the Tourism Dock. While you approach the city, observe the beauty of the docks, with all sizes of fishing boats, forms and colors docked along the coast line. Look at the pitures at right to see the way how the city grew along the mountains in the back.
